Tyler and Shayla took a little road trip together. Aaron and Lynze are living in Las Vegas. Lynze is pregnant with our first grandchild (a boy!) and not able to travel at this time. She said she wanted to "see Tyler's face" before he left. They spent Memorial Day weekend with them and had a great time. They then headed up to Layton, Utah to attend our good friend, Max's high school graduation.
On Saturday, May 14 we were able to enter the Reno Temple with Tyler. Aaron flew in from Las Vegas to be there with him. Shayla also came with us. It was a great day!! He has since been able to attend temples in Las Vegas and Bountiful, Utah. In Bountiful, Tyler was able to baptize and confirm Shayla. What a great place to be as a family!
Tyler had planned out every detail. He was coming home over President's Day weekend and wanted to have his mission call in hand so that he could open it with us. He submitted his papers late in January and on February 8 his call was mailed. Needless to say, when he received his call ten days prior to his coming home, he told me he didn't think he could wait. We organized through Skype so that we could be "present" as a family and watched him open his call amid many friends in his apartment at Brigham Young University. He will be serving in the Mexico Mexico City South mission. He enters the Mission Training Center in Provo, UT on Wednesday, June 22. We are very excited for him to have this opportunity to serve the Lord. He is a great young man with a strong testimony. He will be a great missionary. I will post his letters weekly so you know how he is doing. If you would like to contact him through email, you may do so using Dear Elder.com. It's free!!
